Last night in Portugal happened to be in Evora on the 28th..There was a strike at the train offices again. The best I could do is to take a bus to Lisbon. From there to Evore and stay for a night to take a bus on the next day to Seville.
The white houses, the Portuguese tiles and the balconies stand out in the details of the architecture. These characteristics make Évora the best example of a city from the rise of Portuguese history after the destruction of Lisbon in the 1755 earthquake. It was in Évora that inspiration was sought for the architecture of Portuguese cities in Brazil, in places like Salvador da Bahia.
